Throughout 2025, Androscoggin Bank received both community-based honors and national recognition tied to its work in inclusive finance, long-term community engagement, and mission-driven storytelling. Together, these awards reflected both the depth of the Bank’s local relationships and the broader relevance of its work beyond Maine.

The Third Place
“Active Ally” Award
The Third Place recognized Androscoggin Bank for its consistent support of Black community and business leaders across Maine. What made this recognition especially meaningful was that it was not tied to funding or a formal sponsorship, but to the Bank’s continued presence, engagement, and willingness to show up over time. The honor reflected the trust built through authentic relationships and a visible commitment to staying engaged even in moments when others stepped away.
YWCA Central Maine
2025 Champion of Change Award
Androscoggin Bank was also selected by YWCA Central Maine as its 2025 Champion of Change. This recognition highlighted the Bank’s leadership in advancing racial and gender equity through education, awareness, training, and both internal and external efforts to create a more inclusive community. More broadly, it affirmed that the Bank’s values were not just expressed in words, but were visible in action and making a meaningful difference in the Lewiston-Auburn region.

American Bankers Association Foundation Community Commitment Award
Androscoggin Bank was one of only seven banks nationwide to receive a 2025 Community Commitment Award for Financial Inclusivity. The honor recognized the Bank’s work to support its communities and strengthen local economies, with its BBC film serving as a key part of the nomination.

Later in the year, the Bank was named both a finalist and a winner in the 2025 Future Branches Innovators Awards in the Financial Inclusivity category. The recognition reflected strong peer support for both the model and the impact of the Bank’s inclusive financial work.
Anthem Awards
Gold Winner for Best Documentary/Film in DEIB
The Bank’s BBC film, The Roots of a Neighborhood, earned Gold in the 5th Annual Anthem Awards for Best Documentary/Film in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging category. The award affirmed the film’s storytelling power and its contribution to conversations around equity and access in financial services.
MAINSTREET FOUNDATION’S $25k for Kids Goes to Full Plates Full Potential
Androscoggin Bank’s MainStreet Foundation awarded its 2025 $25K for Kids grant to Full Plates Full Potential, a nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood hunger in Maine. With one in five Maine children experiencing food insecurity, the grant will support the organization’s network of child nutrition consultants, who help schools strengthen meal programs, improve participation, and access the resources needed to serve students every day.
A portion of the grant will also create a discretionary pool of funds to address urgent needs and expand successful programs, directly impacting hundreds of children across the state. The partnership reflects the Bank’s belief that investing in the health and wellbeing of Maine kids is one of the most meaningful investments it can make in the future of its communities.
EMPOWERING A PARTNERSHIP WITH IN HER PRESENCE
In 2025, Androscoggin Bank highlighted In Her Presence as its newest Empowering Partner. The organization supports immigrant families by building connection, nurturing relationships, and creating learning opportunities that support long-term wellbeing and successful integration. Its work spans language acquisition, career counseling and job placement, as well as support for seniors and pregnant women.
As an Empowering Partner, In Her Presence receives a multi-year grant with no application process and no reporting requirements, allowing the relationship to focus less on paperwork and more on meaningful support, deeper conversation, and shared purpose over time. Together, the partnership reflects a belief that when families and communities are empowered, the impact reaches far beyond any single organization.
